It's nobody's fault: it's how growing up bilingual works. School, friends and screens all speak the dominant language, and any language that isn't "needed" outside home starts losing ground. No. We group children by age and level, so heritage speakers who already understand Spanish join groups where they are challenged and can activate the language, not repeat colors and numbers they already know.
Yes. Alongside the heritage groups, we run beginner groups that start from scratch, with a maximum of 4 children per class. Classes are full immersion with visual support (Total Physical Response method), so your child understands everything from day one even with no Spanish at all.
Our group classes, including the reading and theatre classes, have a maximum of 6 children per class. In beginner groups and groups for ages 4–6 the maximum is 4 children. The literacy course is one-to-one, so each child gets the teacher's full attention.
